Description

A small mass on a string acts as a simple pendulum. The length of the string can be adjusted to change the period of oscillation.

Equipment

Various setups:

• mass on a string
• physical pendulum
• mass on a string with length measurement

Instructions

Hold the string and swing the pendula back and forth to demonstrate oscillations and simple harmonic motion. You can change the length of string to change the period of oscillation.
